Warning Signs

The following are warning signs that you may be manipulated by us-against-them opinion media. It will help if you read through the warning signs for both sides:

Conservatives:

  • You don’t really like liberals. You may even hate them and/or think they are anti-American.
  • You believe people are defined by their political beliefs.
  • You get lost in the comments section of political blogs for hours.
  • You post your political opinions on Facebook and defend your opinion to the end no matter how late it gets. When your friends say you need to give it a rest you think they are the ones who are nuts.
  • You know who George Soros is and think he is pure evil.
  • You stopped listening to the other “side” long ago because they are idiots.
  • If you watch “liberal media”, the whole time, you think they are lying and end up yelling at the TV until you change the channel in disgust.
  • When watching what you consider news you get angry and upset. News is boring. An emotional response is a clear sign that what you are watching is not following the standards of journalism.
  • You think MSNBC pundits are ruining this country by brainwashing weak-minded liberals. Yet believe pretty much everything your favorite political pundits say.
  • You call out people for saying the exact same things you said when a conservative was in the white house.
  • You have ended a friendship or stopped talking to a family member because of their Liberal views.
  • You watch cable news, listen to political talk radio and visit partisan sites.

 

Liberals:

  • You don’t really like conservatives. You may even hate them and/or think they are anti-American.
  • You believe people are defined by their political beliefs.
  • You get lost in the comments section of political blogs for hours.
